Mark Ledford is a native of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and a 1984 business graduate of Morehead State University where he had a successful college football career as a receiver during his four years.

Mark began working for Mount Sterling National Bank (now Whitaker Bank) in 1984 and retired in 2021 after a 37-year career with the company.  During his first 8 years of banking, Mark was also an assistant football coach for Montgomery County High School.   In 2017, Mark began writing a book that would help people navigate life with a simplified game plan.  The book titled Simplified Success – 5 Keys to an Amazing Life was published in 2020 and addresses key areas on which a person can focus to gain momentum early in their pursuit of success. Mark decided to retire from banking to pursue his passion of helping people achieve greater success by promoting his book and speaking to students and groups throughout the state.
