Happy 2020!

Happy New Year!

When you hear someone say “2020” what do you think?

If you’re like most people, you think of eyesight. Or rather, hindsight and the old saying “hindsight is always 20/20.”

Regardless, it’s funny that our thoughts at the mention of 2020 have to do with vision, and what better time to consider your vision that the start of a new year.

A new decade, even.

What is your vision for 2020? Where do you want to go? Where would you like to be at this time next year?

Recap of 2019

For me, 2019 was a great year! New clients, new projects, and I was able to help my clients achieve their goals.

One client has almost doubled her business. In fact, she’s looking for a larger office space to handle the new business and her growing staff.

One of my clients was able to purchase his business from the owner, so now he’s in the driver’s seat and the business is thriving.

I’ve helped clients ditch the chaos and regain control of their business. That means more time back in their week and less stress. Who could ask for anything more?

I also picked up several key speaking opportunities.

I was one of the keynote speakers at the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Leadership Symposium held at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia. My topic was about being the PIC or “pilot in command” of your business, especially during difficult or challenging times. I’ve got a video of my presentation (apologies in advance for the less-than-optimum audio quality). You can see the video on my YouTube channel HERE.

I referred back to my pilot training and the mantra “Aviate, Navigate, Communicate” to explain the concept of the pilot in command. You’ll be hearing a lot more about the “Aviate, Navigate, Communicate” model in the months to come.

How about you?

So, from a business perspective, how was your 2019?

Did you struggle with employee engagement? Did you experience a lot of turnovers? Or did you lose that key employee you had always counted on?

Did you hit your revenue targets for 2019? Did you even SET revenue targets for 2019?

What about cash flow? Did you have the money available to do all of the things you wanted or needed to do?

Did you gain new customers last year? Did you lose customers?

So, looking back at 2019, are you hoping for a repeat or something more? If you plateaued and found yourself one year from today in the exact same place, would you be satisfied? Same revenue, same employee struggles, the same cash flow problems, and the same customer base? Would you be satisfied?

And then ask yourself, “Did I go into business for myself to just be satisfied?”
